CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a leading and international company that specialise in 'Big Data' and 'Data Science' we are seeking to recruit a Data Engineer for their offices in Limassol.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be required to use your experience to maintain and build the core monitoring, alerting and dashboard requirements in order to maintain the stability and completeness of data extraction, transformation and storage. The contractual hours for this role will be either 06:00 - 14:30 or 07:30 - 15:30.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Anticipating and identifying operational problems by observing and studying system functioning, product targets and performance results.
- Investigating suggestions and complaints.
- Liaising with engineers to establish best practice troubleshooting procedures.
- Ensuring the operational availability of the engineering services throughout the business.
- Maintaining and enhancing the monitoring process.
- Updating and developing scripts and tools to improve service delivery and automation.
- Occasional out of hours scheduled maintenance/monitoring will be required.
Key Skills/Experience:
- Degree in Computer Science / Engineering or a related field.
- At least 1-2 years demonstrable experience working in a similar role and understanding of data ETL pipelines.
- Java programming experience is desirable.
- Familiarity with database (SQL) principles and common open source tools.
- Experience of working with monitoring technologies (Nagios/Zabbix/Zenoss/Ganglia) or similar is desirable.
- Experience with DevOps methodologies.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology.
